We know that times are tough, and after a stroke, money can be extra tight. We don't want financial hardship to prevent anyone from getting the speech therapy exercises they need to get better. So we've developed a special offer for those in extreme financial need, called the Tactus Hand Up program.
Each of our apps is priced affordably, with no single app priced higher than $24.99 USD. This is a one-time purchase for unlimited use. And this is the small investment we ask each person to make in their recovery.
For all applicants who wish to be considered for the Tactus Hand Up program, we ask that you purchase at least 1 app that you need for your recovery. Show us proof of purchase (screenshot or receipt), and we will match or exceed your purchase with another app of equal or greater value. We aim to reduce the price of the apps you need by at least 50%.
To apply, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and:
- Introduce yourself and your situation, or your client and their situation
- List which apps are recommended for recovery by a qualified professional or best personal assessment after using the App Finder and Lite apps
- Indicate which app or apps you are able to purchase as your investment in the program
Once we receive your application, we will let you know if you qualify and which apps we can provide to match or exceed your purchase. Then you will purchase the apps agreed upon, and we will send you codes to redeem for the remaining apps.
For example: Mr. Jones had a stroke 10 years ago and lives on disability payments as he is no longer able to work. He was given a used iPad by his son, who is also unemployed, to use for entertainment and staying connected. He would now like to work on his language skills using apps. He would like to use the Apraxia Therapy and Language Therapy 4-in-1 app, but is unable to afford the $24.99 + $74.99 purchase price. He has offered to purchase Apraxia Therapy for $24.99. We will exceed his purchase by providing him with the Language Therapy suite, reducing his overall cost by 75%.
Q: Why must I purchase an app? Why won't you just give them to me?
A: We want to help people who are truly invested in their rehab. It is very common that people place little value on things that are free. So to ensure that our donated apps do not go unused, we ask you to share the load - at a level you can afford. As a small business, we also must ensure we can continue to operate sustainably to support and update the apps for the people who use them.
Q: What if I can't afford even 1 app?
A: If the cost of one app is too great, we recommend that you ask family, friends, charities, or your rehab team for assistance. They can provide you with an App Store or Google Play Store gift card or gift the app to you if you're using an iOS device. It's important to have support from others as you recover, and this may serve to get others invested in your recovery as well.
Q: What is considered extreme financial hardship?
A: That is up to you. We aren't going to ask for your tax returns or proof of income. We trust that you will not apply if you can truly afford the apps but would prefer to save the money. This offer is intended to help those who might need to forgo food, medication, healthcare, or other necessities in order to continue their rehab.
